7 Days To Christmas With just seven days to go before Christmas, I expect the trading volume in the markets to begin to taper to a trickle, as more and more traders disengage themselves for the year-end holiday season. Goodbye Ben Bernanke, Hello Janet Yellen To taper or not to taper? That is the question. Today around 2:30pm ET, Ben Bernanke is going to give his final press conference. I do not believe that Ben and the Fed are going to announce that their long-awaited taper is going to happen right before the holidays. I do not think that Ben wants to be remembered as the Grinch that stole Wall Street�s Christmas. As we wave goodbye to Ben Bernanke, we say hello to Janet Yellen, who is going to be in charge of extricating the US economy from the massive $4 trillion hole that Ben dug us into. I'm not sure that is going to be an easy task and I wish Ms. Yellen all the success and luck in the world.
