“Saturday Seminars” - Trade System Evaluation Methods
System developers all too often design systems that produce excellent returns on paper while disregarding real world influences. David presents a few of his own personal trading programs and discusses how to properly evaluate their returns.
This seminar reviews Dynamic Zones, Average RSI, VIX, Best Day system, Trix, and the KST System. David discloses the programming code for most of the systems discussed. The evaluation of these systems centers on statistical methods that highlight the strengths and weaknesses of any trading system. David also discusses his favorite trading instruments: OEX options and the Rydex Nova and Ursa mutual funds. He summarizes his relatively conservative approach to trading the general market through the use of these investment vehicles.
David Stendahl is a professional trader, registered investment advisor and Vice President of TradeSignals. David co-founded RINA Systems in 1995, a firm specializing in performance analysis software for traders and investors. He specializes in S&P futures, OEX options and S&P Index funds.

How to make money almost anywhere, even on a desert island.
How to make money almost anywhere, even on a desert island.
It is probably every traders dream to trade from their own personal tropical island and make money, but can it be done? Oh yes, and in this short video I show you how it can be achieved. What you will see can be done from any location… so if you are on your own private island or you are still saving up to make that big purchase, this technique can be applied.
The dollar index, which is receiving a lot of publicity lately, is featured in this educational video. This index has made a major push to the upside. The question is, do you know what catalyst pushed this market higher? The other question is how high can the dollar go?
If you think it all happened just by luck, that this index is headed higher, think again. In my video I explain and show you in detail why this index is gaining upward trajectory and give specific price targets on the upside.
Summer is over, and it’s time to get serious about the markets. Watch this video and see how you can get a leg up on the market for the rest of the year.

“Saturday Seminars”- Trading the Short-Term Volatility Breakout without a Mechanical System
Mechanical systems do have merit, but after ten years of trading in the cash and energy markets Michael became convinced that a discretionary approach was more suited to his personality and gave him more consistent profits. In this seminar, Michael describes every aspect of the discretionary methodology he developed for profiting from a short-term volatility breakout in futures and equities markets.
Michael’s strategy employs numerous studies, but it assembles them in a logical and efficient manner that is easily grasped. Using his techniques, Michael analyzes twelve futures markets and ten equities in the two hours of this session. His methodology employs classic pattern recognition, average true range, swing, Fibonacci support and resistance, MACD, ADX/DMI, price/volume/open interest relationships, momentum, historic volatility, and the Commitment of Traders report.
Michael also discusses the full anatomy of a trade including entries, exits, setting stops, account leverage, and money management. He presents actual trades in detail so that you gain a complete understanding of his pragmatic, winning methodology. This session provides you with an enhanced understanding of the markets, thereby improving profitability regardless of experience level or trading style.
Before Michael Mazur began trading in the futures industry in 1994, he spent ten years as an international cargo trader in the energy market. He traded for Mobil Oil, Mitsubishi, Salomon, and Vitol SA, and he managed trading personnel and a trading portfolio that reached from the Arabian Gulf through India to the Pacific Rim. His group sales ranged from $500 million to $1 billion annually. Michael lives in Pacific Grove, California, where he operates M.J. Mazur, Inc., a registered commodity trading advisor. Michael manages futures accounts, publishes M Trade, a daily trading sheet, and provides consulting services to institutions and independent investors.

“Saturday Seminars”- Simpler Is Simply Better — Getting Down and Dirty in the Real World - Part 3
Stewart shares many of his basic daytrading rules and observations. Simplifying the decision process removes many of the psychological impediments involved in placing an order and frees valuable time for trading. Fifteen years of real-world trading and advising have convinced Stewart — and will convince you — that simpler is simply better.

Stewart Taylor began his trading career sixteen years ago by trading basic patterns and breakout strategies. These simple strategies evolved into complex day-trading strategies utilizing Elliott Wave and intraday cycles. Stewart’s trading style has come full circle, and he is now a leading proponent of the “simple is simply better” approach. Stewart developed his analytic abilities as an institutional broker serving the fixed income community with Brittenum & Associates, Refco, Vining Sparks Securities, Shearson Lehman, American Express, and Prudential Securities. In 1992, Stewart formed Taylor Consulting, Inc., and began publishing his market letter, The Taylor Fixed-Income Outlook.

“Saturday Seminars”- Simpler Is Simply Better — Getting Down and Dirty in the Real World - Part 1
Stewart shares his simple approach to finding a confluence of price, time and pattern that offers low-risk entries and solid stop placements. He shows how to extract the most meaningful portions from many of today’s leading technical disciplines. These techniques are applicable across a broad spectrum of time frames and markets, but this workshop concentrates on day- and swing-trading methods used in the financial and metal markets.
Stewart shows you how to identify Wyckoff price/volume patterns and behaviors and how to combine these patterns with simple Elliott patterns, Fibonacci objectives and retracements, and volume and open interest analysis to arrive at a solid and tradable market opinion.
Additionally, he shows how he combines basic oscillator patterns with daily/weekly range projections and support/resistance risk points to identify low-risk trading opportunities, placing special emphasis on Wyckoff analysis of accumulation and distribution.

“Saturday Seminars” -Pattern Probability Used in a Unified System
The new trader should have no difficulty following this presentation. Concepts progress logically from the basic to the more complex. There are no abstract theories that the trader must accept on faith or complex formulas to intimidate the new practitioner. Step by step, Curtis proves that any trader can duplicate his personal trading success by approaching trading as a business. A trader must have a consistent approach and a long-term perspective and must adhere to the four basic tenets of trading: trade with the trend, cut losses short, let profits run, and use good money management.
Curtis explains why most traders lose and why success depends upon long-term thinking. Curtis shows a simple way to define a trend and describes nine specific patterns that allow you to follow any trend with minimal risk. You will learn to recognize the most powerful pattern found on a chart and ways to avoid missing a major move.
Curtis teaches you how and when to move your stop to break-even and how to combine two powerful exit systems to ensure that you never again give back your open profits. Curtis also discusses some of the additional considerations that allow a trader to adopt a more aggressive stance when appropriate, including basis relationships, options expiration, and first notice days. Finally, Curtis teaches you a proven money management system using a fixed fractional approach to boost your performance and reduce your longest string of losses.
Curtis Arnold is a veteran of the stocks and commodities markets. His first book, Your Personal Computer Can Make You Rich in Stocks and Commodities, sold over 50,000 copies and contained the actual code for twenty-five programs that would create and plot technical indicators. His next book, Timing the Market (1984), sold nearly 70,000 copies worldwide. Changing Times magazine chose Timing the Market as the best investment book of the year in 1992. In 1994, the book made the best-seller list in India. Curtis developed the Commitment of Traders Index, a tool that allows traders to spot imbalances in futures open interest among small, large, and commercial speculators. In 1987, Curtis’ research led him to quantify and classify classical chart patterns, then produce accurate statistics, rating each for its probabilities of success. This led Curtis to develop his PPS System (Pattern Probability Strategy), one of today’s more successful and popular trading systems. After tripling his personal account in 1988, Curtis began training a limited number of students in his methodology. In 1992, one of his students became the number-one-ranked CTA in the country. That same year, a first-year PPS student won the United States Investing Championship with a return of 216.1 percent. Supertraders Almanac then chose PPS as “Trading Methodology of the Year.”

“Saturday Seminars” - Keep It Simple Stupid: Trading with the Elliott Wave
Using Elliott Wave successfully means using it simply. Mark designed this session to provide you with the basic tools needed for a solid understanding of basic Elliott Wave structures: the 5-wave (impulse) pattern and the 3-wave (corrective) pattern. Specifically, Mark believes that you can successfully trade using Elliott Wave analysis by following only three basic rules accompanied by a handful of guidelines.
Each Elliott Wave structure defines the trend and the market’s next likely move. With a solid understanding of these simple rules and guidelines, you will gain confidence in counting a chart, which can result in a positive balance sheet. Along with the basics, Mark shares several trading approaches to the Elliott Wave sequence. These include deriving likely targets for the next move, assessing risk/reward parameters and using the Wave Principle to minimize risk.
Mark A. Schimmel is a senior market analyst with Elliott Wave International (EWI), the world’s premiere Elliott Wave organization. He provides real-time commentary on dozens of global equity, bond, currency, and commodity markets for professional and private investors around the world. Mark teaches EWI’s comprehensive tutorial on the Elliott Wave Principle and conducts seminars and workshops to retail and institutional investors worldwide. He has served as the editor of The Elliott Wave Theorist Short Term Update, an adjunct service offered to subscribers of Robert Prechter’s Elliott Wave Theorist newsletter. Mark also provides EWI subscribers with live telephone market opinions on all w..

“Saturday Seminars” - The Dynamics of a Trader’s Mindset
In this presentation, Mark Douglas explains the dynamics of the trader’s “mindset” at a very fundamental level. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of how you must first learn to think like a trader before you can fully utilize your technical or analytical abilities.
You must not only understand certain basic trading principles, but also keep that understanding at a functional level in your mental environment. In order to trade successfully, these principles of trading must become part of the core of your personal psychological makeup.
The very nature of trading confronts us with contradictions and paradoxes which make it difficult to grasp the necessary mindset for consistent success. Many traders assume, “If I can find the right trading system or learn enough about the markets’ behavior, the mental part of trading (lack of confidence, discipline or focus) takes care of itself.” This may appear logical but, in fact, could not be further from the truth.
Better analysis can’t compensate for the kind of errors, losses, missed opportunities or money left on the table which result from too little confidence, discipline or focus, because the markets present us with too many variables. More often than not, more analysis only makes these problems worse.
The most successful traders have attained a “trader’s mindset” — a unique set of attitudes which allows them to transcend the typical errors and fears that plague everyone else. In this workshop, Mark elaborates on these attitudes. He draws upon his vast experience to explore with you the qualities and characteristics of a unique market mindset — an absolute prerequisite to producing consistent results as a trader.
Mark Douglas is president of Trading Behavior Dynamics, Inc., a Chicago-based consulting firm that helps traders around the world (individuals, CTAs, and brokerage firms) master the psychological discipline necessary to trade successfully. Mark leads seminars, counsels individual traders, and consults with financial trading organizations. He is a frequent speaker for TAG in Europe and the Far East as well as the annual TAG conference in the United States. Mark’s first book, the critically acclaimed bestseller, The Disciplined Trader, is based upon his personal trading experiences. It is hailed as the most provocative and stimulating work on trading psychology published in the last decade..

“Saturday Seminars” - Advanced Fibonacci Applications and the Price Axis…
Advanced Fibonacci Applications and the Price Axis in the Forex, Stock Index, and Interest Rate Futures.
Joe’s techniques result in significantly higher percentages of winning trades through more accurate stop placement, market entry and profit objective location. Joe’s high-accuracy trading approach depends on the proper mix of both leading (Fibonacci) and lagging indicators.
You will learn where and how to apply Fibonacci analysis. This context determines the real bottom-line difference. Joe devotes a significant part of his lecture to trend analysis and directional techniques using variations of Stochastics, MACD and displaced moving averages. Technical analysis software packages can simulate all of these unique and specific variations through pre-programmed studies or by inserting the formulas Joe provides for you.
Joe will explain the three categories of a winning futures trading plan:
- Management (Yourself & Your Capital)
- A Competent Trend & Direction Analysis Tool
- Proper Applications of Fibonacci Retracement & Objective Analysis
Joe DiNapoli is a veteran trader with over twenty-five years of solid market trading experience. He is also a dogged and thorough researcher, an internationally recognized lecturer, and a widely acclaimed author. Joe’s formal education was in electrical engineering and economics. He received his informal education in “the Bunker,” an aptly named trading room packed full of electronics and communications equipment. This is where most of Joe’s early research began. Joe is one of today’s most sought-after experts for his exhaustive investigations into displaced moving averages, his creation of the proprietary “Oscillator Predictor,” and in particular, his practical and unique method of applying Fibonacci ratios to the price axis. A registered CTA, Joe has taught his techniques in the major financial capitals of Europe and Asia, as well as in the United States. His articles have appeared in a wide variety of technical publications across the nation and worldwide. In 1996 alone, Joe taught capacity audiences in twenty-three financial centers around the globe. Joe was a contributing author to High Performance Futures Trading: Power Lessons From the Masters, selected 1990 book of the year by Super Trader’s Almanac. He also wrote the Fibonacci Money Management and Trend Analysis In-Home Trading Course, which has been lauded by professional and novice traders alike. Joe published his newest and most complete work, DiNapoli Levels, in 1997. The book has been hailed by Futures Truth as “one of the best new technical books to come along in a long time.” When Chuck LeBeau (Technical Traders Bulletin) asked his readers for names of successful traders they wanted to see interviewed, Joe DiNapoli’s name came up more often than any other. The Atlanta Constitution cited Joe’s work by referring to the “magical power” of Fibonacci ratios in the marketplace. Joe has often made use of this magic to make both startling and uncannily accurate market predictions, particularly in stock market indexes and interest rate futures. As the president of Coast Investment Software, Inc., located on Siesta Key in Sarasota, Florida, Joe continues to develop and deploy “high accuracy” trading methods, using a combination of leading and lagging indicators in unique and innovative ways. He conducts a limited number of private tutorials each year at his trading room and he also makes his trading approach available to others via software and trading course materials.
